Daniel Klein:

Born in 1991 in Plattling, Daniel Klein quickly made a name for himself far beyond Lower Bavaria. After completing his training as a chef, he began gaining valuable experience in 2011 at the five-star Kempinski Airport Hotel in Munich. He then moved to Leipzig, where he rose from sous-chef to head chef at Victor’s Residenz-Hotel, before further honing his skills at the five-star Westin Hotel.

In 2018, he fulfilled his dream of opening his own restaurant with [KOOK]36 in Moos near Plattling. The restaurant quickly gained recognition and was awarded a Michelin star. In early 2023, [KOOK]36 moved to the heart of Deggendorf, where Daniel Klein continued his success story. In 2024, he broadened his horizons through a partnership with André Karl, CEO of K Gastronomie GmbH. Together, they pursue the vision of establishing Deggendorf as a culinary hotspot and transforming the city into a gourmet destination. Their concept is complemented by the Café-Bistro NEUN36 and the DALLAS Bar in the KARL Tower, both of which are now part of the joint management portfolio.

In October 2024, after a period of restructuring and creative pause, Daniel Klein reopened the Michelin-starred restaurant edl.eins, taking over its culinary direction. At the same time, he continues to run his own restaurant. Each of his gastronomic projects bears his signature style, while maintaining its own distinct identity.

Beyond his restaurants, Daniel Klein has built a strong presence on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, where he shares insights into his culinary work, recipes, cooking techniques, and behind-the-scenes impressions from his projects—reaching a wide audience far beyond the classic restaurant setting. In 2024, he also appeared alongside Crispy Rob, Meta Hiltebrand, and Alexander Wulff in the JOYN series Lost Chefs.
