Oliver Wirtz Brito
Managing Director - Sundance Artist Management
Oliver Wirtz Brito (born Wirtz) was born in 1964 in Nienburg an der Weser. He discovered his passion for the stage at an early age. At 15, he began competitive dancing and went on to win several championship titles in the years that followed.
In 1985, Oliver Wirtz Brito completed his schooling with the Abitur. He then spent two years serving in the Bundeswehr, a period that shaped him like no other. Rising to the rank of reserve officer and tank commander, he served in Germany, Wales, and Canada—gaining early experience in leadership and responsibility.
For his further education, Oliver Wirtz Brito moved to the United States to study marketing in Arizona. He joined the cultural and educational organization Up With People, renowned for its vibrant music shows featuring artists from 20 nations. From 1987 to 1989, he took part in 100 events worldwide and supported Up With People in his home country of Germany as a Promotion Coordinator.
In 1989, Oliver Wirtz Brito returned to Germany and began as a trainee at the agency VOK DAMS Events & Live-Marketing in Wuppertal, quickly advancing to project manager. In 1991, he was recruited by British American Tobacco in Hamburg, where he worked as a management consultant and developed an international leadership network that continues to this day. By 1994, he had set out on his own as a management and event consultant. His first clients included his former employers, VOK DAMS Events & Live-Marketing and British American Tobacco, soon followed by companies such as Deutsche Telekom, Bacardi, Mercedes-Benz, Philips, and Stella Entertainment.
Oliver Wirtz Brito designs events and galas for audiences of up to 10,000. To sharpen his profile, he also completed numerous international seminars and advanced training programs in management and controlling.
At the end of 1996, Oliver Wirtz Brito made the most consequential decision of his career—the foundation of his later success. He established his own company, Sundance Art & Entertainment GmbH. Shortly thereafter, he launched a second agency, SUNDANCE Music GmbH, marking the beginning of his work representing artists. As executive producer, he brought the 70s musical Freak Out to the stage, which went on to enjoy great success on both German and international stages in the years that followed.
In the years that followed, Oliver Wirtz Brito specialized in developing dramaturgical concepts for product and brand stagings—such as the creative direction for the Goldenes Lenkrad award ceremony—as well as communication campaigns, PR, and online strategies for companies including Arcor, Talkline, Deutsche Telekom, Olympus, Weight Watchers, BMW, Audi, Nivea, Lindt, CeBIT, Hannover Messe, and many more. His success proved him right. Over time, SUNDANCE Music GmbH evolved into SUNDANCE Communications GmbH.
Oliver Wirtz Brito has consistently succeeded in positioning his boutique agency, SUNDANCE Communications, as a trusted partner for artists—shaping them into enduring, successful personal brands. His agency distinguishes itself in both quality and content from all competitors and has become the benchmark within its field.
The expansion into an artist management agency was initiated in 2006, when Tim Mälzer asked Oliver Wirtz Brito to take over his management. Today, the agency employs eleven staff members and represents, alongside Tim Mälzer, artists such as Jorge González, Sasha, Alexander Herrmann, Thomas Hayo, and Jan Hofer, among others. For his work, Oliver Wirtz Brito was honored in 2011 with the LEA Live Entertainment Award as Artist Manager of the Year. He lives in Hamburg.
