hen once asked what made SUNDANCE different, Oliver Wirtz, its Managing Director responded: “We don’t just manage, we create. We don’t just organise, we define“. A strategy turned philosophy continues to play a vital part in the successful management of fixtures of the German media landscape, such as Tim Mälzer, Thomas Hayo, Jan Hahn and Jorge González.
Sundance focuses on maximizing the potential and talent of each of the clients they manage. The authentic and carefully-considered positioning of the individual, based on their traits and attributes is fundamental. But it is only the first step in never ending process of (re)definition, (re)placement and (re)evaluation – ultimately building long lasting and prosperous relationships with our clients and their project partners.
Oliver Wirtz: “Once we have thoroughly analysed the key attributes that define the artist, we begin to think about the most direct paths to translate these attributes into a marketable brand.”
With experience in the development of personalized, market relevant and entertaining TV Formats, Sundance implements long term, sustainable and lucrative development strategies for our artists. Fully utilizing a complete value chain in the execution of such strategies, Sundance is partnered with the production company tibool GmbH, owned in partnership between Oliver Wirtz, Tim Mälzer and a third party. Tibool has produced many award winning food related programmes and nutritional documentaries in their own studio-kitchen, located on the site of Mälzer’s “Bullerei” restaurant in Hamburg’s trendy “Sternschanze” district. Most recently tibool has produced the fashion talk show “E! Factor by Jorge González” for international network “E! Entertainment” owned by NBCUniversal.
Recognised by the industry as a leading force in the management of German media personalities, Sundance was honoured by being awarded the “LEA” (Live Entertainment Award) for Artist Management of the Year in 2011.
